Our trip to Scotia Seeds
We went on a trip to Scotia seeds on Tuesday 6th June.   It was brilliant to meet Giles, Fiona and everyone else who works there.   We had a fantastic day and the weather was fabulous too!
We walked round the flower meadows and saw lots of different types of flowers.   We even saw some flowers that are in our mixes.   This is a picture of Red Campion flowers which you'll find in the Butterfly's Best Friend mix.   Don't they look funky!
Giles is showing us all the different types of grass you can find.
We were split into groups and Fiona gave each group a wire quadrat.   We had to put it on the ground and count how many diffferent species of plants we could find.
We even got to sit on the tractor!
We were allowed to go into the laboratory.   It was brilliant!   This is Tamsin using the dividing machine.
Caelan is looking at some seeds through the microscope.   We were all really amazed at how different they looked.
We got to pack some Ox-eye Daisy seeds in the Packing Room.   It was just like being back at school!   We were experts!
Fiona is showing us where the seed packets are stored.
Wow!   I can't believe Scotia Seeds sell so many different packets!
